Optional Competitions
Optional competitions, including, Talent, Photogenic, People’s Choice, and Essay Writing. are offered as add-on categories for officially registered contestants. Entry into the main pageant is required in order to participate in any optional competitions.

Talent Competition
Talent Competition Guidelines
Accepted Talent Categories
Contestants may choose from, but are not limited to, the following talent types:
Dance (ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, etc,)
Vocal Performance (singing)
Instrumental (piano, guitar, violin, etc)
Cheerleading/Pom Routines
Acting/Monologue
Spoken Word/Poetry
Cultural Performances
Other age-appropriate talents (subject to approval)
Time Limits
Maximum time: 2 minutes
Music must be cut and submitted in advance
Performances exceeding the time limit may be stopped and/or penalized.
Safety & Restrictions
To ensure the safety of all contestants, guests, and the venue, the following are NOT permitted.
Fire, open flames, or pyrotechnics
Weapons of any kind
Dangerous stunts or areal equipment
Excessive tumbling passes across the stage
Use of liquids, oils, confetti, or substances that may damage or dirty the stage
Animals
Props that require extensive setup or cleanup
Props & Setup
Props must be small, safe, and manageable
Contestants must be able to setup and remove props quickly (within 30 seconds)
No assistance will be provided unless preapproved
Music Guidelines
Music must be age-appropriate and family friendly
No inappropriate language, suggestive content, or explicit themes
Music must be submitted prior to the event (details to be provided)
General Rules
All performances must be age-appropriate in costuming and choreography
Judges’ decisions are final
Crown and Cape Productions LLC reserves the right to approve or deny any talent entry
Photogenic Competition
Photogenic Competition Guuidelines
Photo Requirements
One photo per contestant per entry
Photo must be of the contestant only (no group photos)
Photos may be: Professional, Casual, Color, Black & White
Submission Guidelines
Photos must be submitted by the deadline provided
Digital submissions only (JPG or PNG)
Editing and Filters
Light editing is acceptable (brightness, contrast, minor retouching)
Excessive editing, filters, or alterations that change the contestant’s natural appearance are not permitted.
Attire & Appearance
Outfit should be age appropriate and tasateful
Hair and makeup should reflect the contestant’s natural beauty
No inappropriate clothing or suggestive poses
Judging Criteria
Photos will be judged on: overall appearance, natural beauty, expression/personality, photographic appeal, confidence and presence.
Restrictions
No inappropriate or suggestive images
No props that distract from the contestant
No watermarks, logos, or photographer branding on the photo
No digital frames or heavy graphics
General Rules
All entries must follow guidelines to be eligible
Judges’ decisions are final

Essay Writing Competition
Essay Writing Competition Guidelines
Essay Requirements
Essays must be original work written by the contestant
Topic will be provided
Length: Minimum 150 words
Maximum 500 words
Submission Guidelines
Essays must be submitted by the deadline provided
Accepted formats: typed or neatly handwritten
Digital submissions: PDF, DOC, or DOCX
Include: Contestant name, age division, title of essay
Age Appropriateness
Content must be appropriate for the contestant’s age division
Judging Criteria
Essays will be judged on:
Creativity and Originality
Clarity and organization
Grammar and spelling
Relevance to the topic
Overall impact and message
Restrictions
No plagiarism (copying from any source)
No AI-generated essays
No inappropriate language or themes
